Anita Chari is a writer, lyric mezzo-soprano, cellist, composer, and political theorist. Her compositions written for voice problematize the subjectivity and embodiment of Western modernity through the medium of operatic singing, a theme that she also explores in her creative writing. She teaches social and political theory at the University of Oregon.
Carol Genetti is a vocalist, composer, and installation artist. She has toured the United States, Canada, France, and Germany and has performed numerous live concerts as an improvisational vocalist. Her accomplishments as a composer and sound artist include works for the Hedwig Dance Company, Sonic Celluloid Festival, the Outer Ear Sound Arts Festival, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago.
