Anita Chari is a writer, lyric mezzo-soprano, cellist, composer, and political theorist. Her compositions written for voice problematize the subjectivity and embodiment of Western modernity through the medium of operatic singing, a theme that she also explores in her creative writing. She teaches social and political theory at the University of Oregon.
